Ryan Duke

Ryan Duke is a Marine Corps Veteran and graduate of the University of Alabama in Criminology. He served many tours in Iraq in the Medical, Logistics, and Security fields. His days as an ambulance driver during the worst years of the war pressed him to write about his time in the Middle East and all of the great souls he met along the way.

Originally from the South, he spent most of his years growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He hopes the Grey Heart Trilogy will help other Veterans heal from the war and push people to look at the big picture as the world learns to communicate and find a common cause to get behind, together.

Ryan’s book, The Grey Heart is the first in a planned trilogy following a diverse cast of characters, all fighting for the same goal—peace and safety in a fractured world

“My greatest hope in writing this trilogy is to help other veterans heal from war,” said Duke, a Marine veteran who served three tours in Iraq and spent a year with Triple Canopy, a private security company founded by U.S. Army Special Forces veterans. “I want to encourage readers to see the bigger picture and unite behind a common cause. Despite our many cultures, we’re not so different on a fundamental level.”
