John Morrin is an avid reader and lifelong student. He is a passionate writer who is dedicated to creating an authentic anthology of poetry, blending together themes of psychology, philosophy, theology and beyond. In his debut work, John weaves together his experiences from his time before, during, and after his service in the Marine Corps; with the current, everyday struggles he has faced due to the invisible wounds he suffered.

John served his country honorably by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at 19 years old, where he had five overseas deployments, totaling three and a half years spent on foreign soil. He has been both the warrior and the tradesman, the storyteller and the fool. John currently resides in Ohio with his beautiful wife, who has been the most instrumental part of his recovery, and their three dogs: Athena, Titan, and Bowie.

In his debut book of poems, Riddles in the Dark: The Never-Ending Battle, the Marine Corps veteran draws upon his struggles with PTSD to shed light on the darkness that lies within us all and invisible wounds that many veterans cope with daily.

In John Morrin’s new book of poems, Fractured Reflections, Morrin empowers readers to address their emotions and reflect on their personal journeys.

Thank you for writing something for the lost. Taking the knowledge from the Corps to the souls of individuals will bring you love and success. I am very excited to pry open your book and see what you do in the world. Perspective is key. Thank you for your service.
