Robert J. Dvorchak was a war correspondent assigned to Army Combat Pool No. 1 and the 82nd Airborne Division during Desert Storm. A former national writer based in New York City for The Associated Press, he worked as a journalist for more than 40 years and has authored five books, including Battle For Korea. He is also a U.S. Army veteran whose father served in the Navy during World War II and whose oldest brother served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment during Vietnam. Inducted into the inaugural class of the Uniontown (Pa.) High School Hall of Fame, he has received several national, state and local writing awards. Now 67 and living in Pittsburgh, he is also married with two daughters and five granddaughters.
